The writing routine is such a myth! And if people have one that works then I’m achingly jealous… but I’m the same in that I need spontaneity and a sense of structure for creativity to sneak in. Also - I often feel single track minded about my book 😅
Having no routine *can* be a routine! My debut’s coming out in April so I’m hustling to get a second draft of my second book done by then. Word counts have been helpful for me, as are taking weekends off. I try to remind myself that to have empathy for my characters you need to have empathy for yourself. You got this 💪🏻
Oh this is great advice. And it’s also very impressive to have your second book fully in motion before your debut comes out!!!! Congrats and good luck 🎀

I feel all of this so hard as I slog through my own second book, which has been so much harder than I anticipated.
So so well written Mads. Xx
